The most important is the amount of particles per unit volume and is the only parameter controlled rooms for certain specific criteria more flexible.

We classify cleanrooms by the number of particles per unit volume. The traditional standard U.S. FED STD 209E using the cubic feet but it is replaced by the ISO 14644-1 standard expressed in cubic meters, which corresponds to European standard.

All these steps are done using a measuring device: The particle counter that will count the number of particles in a given volume and then determine the class of the cleanroom.
